We are a growing beef cattle operation looking for a seasoned hand who knows cattle from the ground up - someone who can read an animal before it goes down, not after.
We run 650 head of grass-fed beef cattle and we are scaling with purpose. We have additional property coming online in spring and we need someone who can help us manage this growth the right way.
What this role actually is:
You will be our eyes, ears, and hands on the ground. You will manage daily herd health, feed and water, pasture rotation, and be the first to notice when something is off with an animal. This is for someone who is most comfortable in the field.
What we need from you:
- Proven experience in beef cattle operations - feedlot experience is a strong asset
- Extensive experience in calving - you have been through many calving seasons and know what you are doing when things get complicated
- A skilled eye for newborn calf health - you know the signs of a calf that needs intervention and you act fast
- The ability to assess animal health by observation - you catch problems early
- Experience managing or working within a growing herd
- Practical knowledge of pasture management and rotational grazing
- A work ethic that does not require a supervisor standing over you
What we offer:
- Competitive compensation based on your experience
- A genuine opportunity to grow with us - this is not a dead-end position
- A genuine stake in something growing - the right person will have room to take on more responsibility and be rewarded for it
- On-site accommodations available
- A team that respects what you know and will listen to it
If you are the kind of person who shows up with a good attitude even on the hard days - because you know hard days are part of the work - this is the opportunity you have been looking for. This operation has real upside for the right person. We are building something here and we want someone who wants to build it with us.
To apply: Send us a message telling us about your experience and the operations you have worked on. We are not looking for a resume - we are looking for someone who can tell us about their cattle.
